"IT MATTERS"

"Young Life is a place for genuine community and fun where you can always count on a loving friend. In a world of uncertainty, Young Life is a place where I can find full confidence in who I am and where I belong. It has been epic to have an impact on others' faith stories while still being impacted myself." - Sadie B

IT MATTERS

I was introduced to Young Life right around Thanksgiving time my junior year of high school. Why was my first club so memorable? Well, the opening event included a turkey frozen solid, promptly converted to a "bowling ball" after drilling three holes in it and setting pins in its path. The inclusivivty and energy of the leaders and students I met immediately peaked my interest in a unique way that kept me coming back for more. As a girl who grew up in the church and has always chased after Biblical knowledge as an individual, I've been blessed with a great foundation to my faith. However, at that point in my life, lacked a grasp of true community and vulnerability amongst believers -- a place and people to call my own.

Once I transitioned to college, Young Life took on added meaning to me. Within the secular environment of my school, I once again struggled to find a sense of belonging and purpose that I knew my identity as a daughter of Christ was calling me to. I understood the impact Young Life had on me through my high school years and could not be more grateful for the opportunity to pour out the same blessings and wisdom that I received. - Elise
